Instant Signs Blog
The first picture is of our first Black Granite sandblasted sign ever. We sandblasted the images into the granite, and painted the gold letters and border, then painted a clear UV coating over the letters and border.
The second picture is of foam & acrylic letters on a brick wall. The third picture is of brass letters we re-finished and re-installed for Gamma Phi Beta, a USC Sorority.
The first two pics are table wraps we did for Thermo Power Ind. in Los Alamitos, and the last two are for Versatile Building Products, in Anaheim Ca. These two signs were re-wrapped with new graphics, as the old signs were faded and worn. This saved them approx. $1,000.00 from the price of new signs.
Instant Signs & Banners recently wrapped this classic hot rod with patriot vinyls "Honoring Our Fallen."
We wrapped this custom 1940 Willy's hot rod for Honoring our Fallen when Laura Herzog brought us the project earlier in the summer.
Our designer Jerry Hudson made the designs, including the names of the fallen heroes in the white stripes on the doors, and printed the premium 3M IJ 380 wrap media for our crew to install.
Our 3M certified installer Jim Earnest became ill during the first night we started working on the custom hot rod wrap, and we had to make an emergency call to Icon Image Graphics installers to bail us out, and we had never had the opportunity to use their service before.
Susanne and Sino, the owners, came right out and looked the project over, and came back with three more 3M certified wrap specialists, and worked from 10:00 am to 4:00 am without taking more than a 15 minute break to eat.
I started supporting Honoring our Fallen in 2011 when Laura first came to me with a small project and as a Marine Corps veteran I saw the need of her service to our families of fallen heroes. We continue to support Honoring our Fallen as our primary charity at Instant Signs and Banners.
We recently made a new LED illuminated channel letter sign for the Emergency Room at the West Anaheim Medical Center, in West Anaheim, Ca.
Their old sign was dated, and was illuminated with Neon, and was a constant service problem due to rain and dew blowing out the neon in the wet season,(When we used to have wet seasons).
After the terrible story of the dog being shot by a police officer in Salt Lake City, Utah, there have been a lot of dog owners asking for signs that give a little heads up to law enforcement. Here are a couple of versions.
This picture shows one of my staff constructing a frame that a canvas digital print will be stretched over, and will be shipped to Atlanta Georgia for a home furnishings show that our client Branche' Beauty Sleep, will be displaying their high end beds in.
We were first contacted by a Major at the 79th Sustainment Command at Los Alamitos Joint Forces Army Base, in Los Alamitos CA, in January this year to see about making some building signs for the new building they most recently had built for them.
After many proofs and revisions, we settled upon a set of cast aluminum letters and a 48" diameter cast 3D US ARMY RESERVE seal.
We never heard anything from them for a couple of months, and then 3 weeks ago we got the call from their purchasing department announcing that we had been awarded the contract.
The only problem was that the 3D cast aluminum seal takes 4-6 weeks to be fabricated, so we routed a 2 layered PVC seal for the Grand Opening Ceremony, where the Sergeant who's name the building bears' family were present to see how he was honored in the memory of his ultimate sacrifice.
The steps in making a sign. This sign was initially going to be a non illuminated sign with two signs on each side of the building. When I sent the drawings into the city, the planning official said we'd have to make illuminated channel letters. This more than doubled the price of the original signs, but the finished product will be a marked improvement over the Acrylic/Foam letters. When hiring a sign contractor, you need to check their references, (reviews in social media), then go to the CSLB website to make sure their contractors license is in order. California contract law states that entering into a contract in excess of $500.00 will be an un enforceable contract, and you will have no recourse to make a claim as the illegal sign worker will not have a Bond or insurance, as all licensed contractors do. I was able to stop wasting more than $3,000 of my clients money by doing this the right way, and seeking the permission from the Building & Planning Department, and finding that the acrylic/foam signs would have been "RedTagged" by the code enforcement officer, and the signs would had have to have been removed, and the channel letters made in the end.
We fabricated and installed two exterior wall signs for Ralph Ames Machine Works in Torrance Ca.
this company is a premier parts manufacturer for the US Militaries aircraft contractors and make high tolerance machined parts.
This is a lexan sign face that we had to route to fit the old Winchell's Donuts sign in Bixby Knolls/Long Beach, and we decorated the faces with translucent vinyl graphics and printed the chili pepper logo with our Gerber Edge thermal printer. These signs were made in 2004! Not bad for a 9 year old sign!!!
Instant Signs Cypress was mentioned on the Vandguard website's gallery today, posting the before and after pics of a sign we made with their anti-graffiti laminate. This laminate is added to all of our exterior signs as a value added option!
